HENRY COUNTY (WTOL) -
Fire crews in Henry County are fighting a blaze at a restaurant in Liberty Center Wednesday morning.
The fire started at the Log Cabin Tavern on County Road 3 around 4 a.m.
Henry County dispatchers say the tavern is fully engulfed in flames and is likely destroyed.
Crews say flames had already broke through the roof when they arrived on scene.

Several fire departments are working to tame the fire,
including Delta, Providence Township, Napoleon and Grand Rapids.
Crews say a bulk of the flames came from the kitchen area, but it’s too soon to tell how the fire started.
Crews worked to isolate the flames to keep them from spreading to the dining room area,
and are still working to put out flames toward the back.

Crews say they had to use water from a nearby pond to fight the fire.
“We don’t have hydrants in this area - they’re several miles away.
We do have a farm pond; it’s just down the road here just two or three houses,
so we set up for water supply there,” said Liberty Center Fire Chief Brian Baker.
Crews say aside from the section of the dining room, not much will be salvageable.
The owner of the restaurant is out of state, but has been contacted.
No one was injured.
